Define ft. Gianfra - “F(r)âme(s)” Album

Basic needs of human conditions are easy fulfilled in western modern societies: breath, drink, eat, sleep, etc. But after these, the brains move to the next level of awareness: what are we? What is our goal in life? What is our legacy once we are gone?

This internal struggle seems at first very unnecessary but at a deeper look is the core of the human existence. For many people this process is unbearable and brings them to extreme choices, on the contrary for others it is barely felt. Sometimes the socio-economical situation we are in define a future with no alternatives, sometimes we need to evolve and move away from it.

Relocating is always felt as a good way out from difficult realities, but often brings guilt to the emigrants: the feeling that you are escaping, that instead of fighting back, you are taking the easy path. But at the end, life fulfillment isn’t it about finding the way to a better future?

This song brings together all those feelings and mixes them up with dark sonority to generate a deep and intimate conversation between two old friends separated by many kilometers.

Cheers
Stevo

Lyrics:
It’s a long time my friend

Since I see this landscape
Has been a hard time to defend
My pride and do not escape

But now the hills are way down below me

And I feel mother earth talking to me
Again I trust the world and I know that I have to try

Define myself

I’ll do anything to define myself

All around me, bad things are happening

It’s so worrying, I understand, and it’s hard but I have to
When I’ll meet you again
On a spaceship or on a train
I will know I have fulfilled my faith

But now the hills are way down below me

And I feel mother earth talking to me
Again I trust the world and I know that I have to try

Define myself

I’ll do anything to define myself
Define my head
Define my death

His Name - “F(r)âme(s)” Album

How do we normal world dwellers perceive and exercise power and how do we react when we become unwanted subjects of power structures?

In the current times revealing oneself by practicing a transparent authenticity online is a must to be recognised as a peer, as a reliable person.

Revealing yourself from where I come from is letting one be vulnerable, weaken by information, but nowadays information and the active sharing of it, means to exist, it is an auto definition of what you would like to be, a certain aspirational move.

But can you really share everything you think, can you allow yourself to be critical, open and bold about certain topics? The answer relies in context, in the sociopolitical to be more exact.

The globality of ideas contrast with the different reactions and consequences you would have to face depending on where you live: political and societal vindications can mean you will be trolled in internet or you will end up dead.

If everything is about content production and information sharing, power is exercised by controlling the content and monopolizing information channels. Dissident voices are perceived by power structures and its representatives as uncontrolled variables that disturb order, such voices are considered in many cases military targets.

The power of nations and their big military parades are a reminder that coercion can always come as an unexpected private intrusion at your home but haven’t you let the door open?

In any case don't say the name!

Abelardo, that is the name!

Lyrics:
Can’t remember the fella
That came that day
Can’t remember the fella
That killed the faith

Don’t wanna say his name

Suddenly the police came in

Asking for information of the location of my beloved

Don’t wanna say his name

Alteration is just, just a peak of time!

Don’t wanna say his name

Dirty Veins ft. Gianfra - “F(r)âme(s)” Album

Hedonism and friendship, freedom and creativity, all seen through the lens of adolescence. When partying and substances take the place of values and inspiration, the life seems like a rollercoaster of emotions. But how far can the boredom and emptiness of countryside can push the minds of young people? How far can families and authorities impact their lives?

This song is an introspection in the youth of millions of people, a reflection about the destiny of many youngsters that live their lives thought adulterated targets and goals: who can get higher? Who can stand more booze? Who can cross the mine field of drugs without step on the most dangerous one?

Cheers
Stevo

Lyrics:
Do you remember how much fun we used to have?
Meeting each other and with scooters run around
Do whatever we could to reach the goal
Play in the garage and smash drum sticks
Enjoy the sun and the goods in the fields

Do you remember the runs from the police?
And evenings lost in self-destruction
It escalate, I don’t know you anymore
All the time spent together, all the people we met
Is only me and you here now

That dirty veins ruined the time, ruined the people I used to love so much
Dirty veins never let you go away, and we are alone now yes we are
Gears of a machinery called life
Gears of our own future that will not let us know how!

Explode - “F(r)âme(s)” Album

Same As Before?

Sometimes we wake up from the dream of growing up. Still numb from the cranky sleep we slowly realize that in the effort to be recognized as an adult we become someone else. We look around and we just don't know how we got there; how we accepted to be a version of ourselves that we have been always so critical about.

But are we the same? Same as before? Decisions and the compromises commanded by the passage of time transform us from young idealistic resourceful flowers to rooted disenchanted trees. The uncompromising values followed so passionately in youth faded out to a routine of alarm-car-screen-coffee-screen-lunch-coffee-screen-car-dinner-TV-sleep, where ideals seem gone.

So, how can we commit to such a schizophrenic exercise without losing a bit or a lot of ourselves in the process? We need to find holes in the emotional net created by the society. We need to make some moments still count and do not get loose in the Personal expectation<->Society expectation<->Disappointment vicious circle. We have to revive the old ideals and adapt them to the new situation.

Explode is a scream of freedom to the others, is a cry to ourselves to remember what we have been and what we can still be: faith in truth and honesty is the only way to move on!

Cheers
Stevo

Lyrics:
Used to live in freedom believing in anarchy
Everybody with me
Same views and anger, sharing struggles everyday
Fast forward in the future and you see everything has variated
Doesn’t mean that I changed
But the eyes around here watch me in a very different way

I do same things, I act like before, you never see me through the door
I love my crew, I got their backs, spend all the time workin’ soundtracks
I do same things, I act like before, you never see me through the door
Am I bad? Is it wrong? You should just turn and leave me alone

Can’t stand anymore those narrow walls, you’ve built around our souls
Harsh judgements, fake compliments, if I’ll hear them once more I’m gonna explode!!!!
Only you as the last moral hero, Can tell what’s right and what’s wrong
Sarcasm and criticisms, shut up and hear my words then your dumb head will explode!!!!

Put on a mask and behave for the society I must
But I will not adjust
Faith in truth and honesty it’s the only way to move on
I am bound to guilt and fake smiles and a slave I became
Hidden meanings to aim
In this world where people don’t share what they feel in their hearts

I do same things, I act like before, you never see me through the door
I love my crew, I got their backs, spend our time workin’ soundtracks
I do same things, I act like before, you never see me through the door
Am I bad? Is it wrong? You should just turn and leave me alone

Can’t stand anymore those narrow walls, you’ve built around our souls
Harsh judgements, fake compliments, if I’ll hear them once more I’m gonna explode!!!!
Only you as the last moral hero, Can tell what’s right and what’s wrong
Sarcasm and criticisms, shut up and hear my words then your dumb head will explode!!!! Explode!!!!

F(r)âme(s) - “F(r)âme(s)” Album

One of the greatest social engines of our time is the auto-domestication of individuals; Subjects are pushing themselves constantly to be a better version of themselves, to adapt and be articulated into a society of success; assuming blindly a social order and its aesthetics. Look at Instagram.
We are absorbing a discourse of self development that brings no other than anxiety and frustration. And it is such a great engine because it is at the heart of innovation and entrepreneurship, it is the pillar for a society in which everyone is his or her own company that you have to sell and recreate in a market society. You frame yourself in relation to how likable you are which would "mean" how successful you "appear".

This album is evidently a counter culture message; embedded musically and acting as a tribute to the Rock of the 90; Grunge, New Punk, Etc. but is also a detachment from the suffering that this culture conveyed. It was again a heavy burden to feel only empowered by anger and rage which have ended in the auto destruction of some of the Counter Culture Prophets of the time. But still we could only profit from this social movement thanks to the big record deals and world tours, the counter culture could only exist as part of the big machine. So fame and grandeur were also desirable and sought after many kids and young adults, living a paradox, living this ill hybridity of wanting to be famous while conveying criticisms to a reigning social order, to the glamour and the superficiality.

So auto-imposed frames, the hunger (fame in Italian) for fame and the selling of the soul (âme in French) are at the conceptual heart of this song and the entire album. Cause we are here, anyhow, anyway and that's alright! Thanks for sharing this journey with us!

Lyrics:
And I’m here
Anyhow
Anyway
But it’s alright

All sold out

In my hopes
You will see
I restrain from fame

But you know it is okay

Is only frames

And I’m here

Anyhow
Anyway
But it’s alright

Songs in my soul

All these songs
Are my hopes
And they are mine

But you know it is okay

Restrained from fame

Songs in my soul

All these songs
Are my hopes
And they are mine

Vrais - “F(r)âme(s)” Album

The encounter of individuals, the intention of sharing a physical substantial moment, the game of seduction VS The depiction of sexuality and intimacy as taboo. The skin, the tongue, the naked body are still filled with symbolisms of forbidden or the contrary: The social imaginary of assuming an esthetic, the constant mis en scène is considered essential of contemporary existence; the body is an ideological tools and it is an object of control or to control.

Lyrics:

Translation:
True (Vrai)

Good evening miss, I almost did not notice that you are all alone with this air of being a little bored and we are already two, two souls in this cold universe that is around us and that invades us through the skin but my real universe is the light that I will see later in your eyes.

And I'm going to stop philosophizing and start talking to you in a Cartesian way, hinting at no illusion, you're beautiful and you're there and it brings us to the ideal conditions to getting to know you.

And it's true that I'm French
A moment of puberty
And it's true that I'm French
Impulses and naivety

See you miss, I wanted to tell you something: the universe also knows how to play with the circumstances surrounding a near perfect moment but the reason is yet against unless you impose yourself

And it's true that I'm French
Thousand moments of puberty
And it's true that I'm French
Impulses and cowardice

Claire Prieur - “F(r)âme(s)” Album

What should be this song about? Nothing but the description of a moment and not intellectual elucubrations.

Lyrics:
Claire Prieur comment tu vas?
C’est qui la petite Léana qui joue avec toi?
Et le petit Joshua qui est dans tes bras?
Claire Prieur comment tu vas?
